Who am I?
My name is Jake Daynes, and I'm a 3D Animation and Game Design Graduate here in lovely Vancouver, BC. I was born and raised in Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island just off the west coast, and lived in Japan for my grade 11 studies. I'm a bilingual English-Japanese speaker, with a background in English Literature, Computing, and Graphic Design. I believe in ones right to privacy, freedom of expression, and the right of all peoples, regardless of nationality, to lead an honest and fulfilling life. I have sat back and watched as our current and previous administrations have kept us in the dark, passing, almost at whim, censoring and unconstitutional legislation for the major media corporations, many based out of the US.
- I fight alongside my fellow PPCA members for the following:
- Copyright and Patent Reform
- Right to Privacy
- Government Transparency
- Net Neutrality
- Digital Sovereignty
- Freedom of Information
- Protection of the individual's freedoms of culture and expression
It is my intention to do, by whatever means possible, everything I can in order to help this party succeed, and to help make the voices of our fellow citizens heard. We have had enough of multi-billion dollar corporations telling us how to live our lives, and attempting to squeeze every possible cent out of us.
- I fight alongside my fellow PPCA members against:
- Restrictive Legislation that would criminalize virtually all of my fellow citizens
- A copyright that lasts longer than my lifetime and the lifetime of my children
- The supposed "rights" of corporations to inspect my internet activity
- A government that does nothing but watch as the Media corporations take control.
- I fight for a free Canada.
