Job Title: Door-to-door Canvasser

Responsible To:

  • Local Riding Association Volunteer Coordinator (if available)
  • Local Riding Association Chair (if available)
  • Shawn Gray OCT, Federal Volunteer Coordinator
  • Local Candidate

Position Summary: To travel throughout local ridings that are currently contesting the election/by-election with pamphlets and knocking on the doors of residential homes to discuss the benefits and views of our candidates

Duties:

  • Speak with local constituents about PPCA issues
  • Speak with local constituents about issues defined by local candidates
  • Knock on every door in assigned neighbourhoods to discuss PPCA ideals
  • Ask for permission to put up lawn signs or window signs (as available)
  • Mark on maps locations where discussion has been completed

Qualifications:

  • Speaking skills
  • Persuasion Skills
  • Must be extremely passionate about Pirate Party core values
  • Must possess dedication and perseverance
  • Even temper as some residents do get emotional about politics

Time Commitment:

  • Varies

Comments:

  • Must have own transportation
  • May, on occasion, be accompanied by the local candidate
